Which material is the right one? The core of our mudguards are the profiles. They can be produced of two different plastic materials in a sandwich with aluminum foils. CAB (cellulose acetate butyrate) CAB is a premium-class plastic based on cellulose (wood). Characteristic for this material is the glossy surface. It is permanently weather and UV-resistant. Profiles made from CAB are flexible. Even after years of use under all kinds of weather conditions it hardly wears out. Many bike manufacturers, especially the high-end ones, use mudguards made from CAB to optimally equip their bikes. PET (polyethylene terephthalate) PET is a thermoplastic plastic from the family of polyesters. This material is also quite flexible and has a glossy surface when new. After years of use, though, it wears out a little. Because of this attribute, PET-mudguards are best suitable for entry-price level bikes. General Introduction Einführung Welches Material ist das Richtige? Das Herzstück unserer Radschützer sind die Profile, welche aus zwei verschiedenen Kunststoffmaterialien gefertigt werden können. CAB (Celluloseacetobutyrat). CAB ist ein hochwertiger Kunststoff, der auf Cellulose (Baumwolle) basiert. Das Material zeichnet sich durch einen sehr hohen Oberflächenglanz aus und ist dauerhaft sowohl UV- als auch witterungsbeständig. Profile aus CAB sind besonders flexibel. Auch nach jahrelanger Nutzung in allen Wetter- verhältnissen ist fast kein Verschleiß erkennbar. Das Gros der Hersteller, insbesondere diejenigen, die im High-End Bereich angesiedelt sind, setzt CAB bei den Radschützern ein, um die Fahrräder optimal auszustatten. PET (Polyethylenterephthalat). PET ist ein thermoplastischer Kunststoff aus der Familie der Polyester. Auch dieses Material ist flexibel und besitzt anfangs ebenfalls einen hohen Oberflächenglanz. Nach längerem Einsatz werden hier jedoch Abnutzungserscheinungen sichtbar. Dieses Material ist aufgrund dessen bestens für die Einstiegspreisklasse geeignet. MADE IN GERMANY 12MUDGUARDS .
